NIGHT

Before going to sleep I close my eyes to watch myself dance.
I imagine my movements singing the space I occupy.
I memorize through sound and I use this score to tattoo it in the air with my body.
The rhythm guides me towards the dream of a night full of life, ritual, illusion and liberating transformation.

This proposal, whose objective is based on the expansion of my choreographic language, the exploration of another musical format and the development of sound and space, focuses on the body; on bodies, on rhythm and on the essential guitar. On everything close to us that reminds us of our own heartbeat. Natural materials, their textures, pots and pans or the table will be our “battle” tools. The “pelá” guitar, the percussion, the primary song, the drags on the floor, the shoes or the voices that make us call other bodies, come to life on stage to bring, through a common folklore, rewritten, traveled and revisited, a multifaceted flamenco scene.

Created to be played and danced at night and full of references to other music and other places, 'Nocturno' is a fantasy of two musicians on stage and a dancer who weave together a route through insomnia, memory and longing. A journey that is sometimes playful, sometimes ecstatic or solemn, sometimes painful and lonely...
