FLAMENCO MANUAL FOR FAMILIES

Leonor Leal, Antonio Moreno and Guridi

Premiered at the 2024 Seville Flamenco Biennial

In collaboration with CaixaForum

Family workshop introducing the world of flamenco through rhythm, movement and the visual arts.

The flamenco dancer Leonor Leal, the percussionist Antonio Moreno and the illustrator Guridi invite us to participate in a unique and singular workshop where families can enter the world of flamenco, offering the little ones a first contact with this enriching musical imagination, through collective participation.

Program

As a dancer and percussionist, we will work mainly on sound and rhythm as the basis and beginning of the flamenco language; we will explore the feet and the sound possibilities with them, the hands as an expressive extension of our emotions and as an instrument, and the connection of the voice with the body to get closer to a syllabic language of flamenco. We will play with onomatopoeia and through them we will discover different rhythms and also qualities of movement present in the dance: the soft, the dry, the precise and the wrinkle.

In this workshop, thanks to Guridi's collaboration, we will work on strokes as a sound gesture and we will use paper as a notebook where we can connect words with images. A workshop to explore, play and participate as a family, having fun being together and mixed up.

Age: from three years old.
