HOUSE 23

Who hasn't had a special place in their home? On that rooftop or on a simple step where they lamented alone and where they also promised to become who they dreamed of being?

Casa 23 is a place to create. A small-scale cultural centre that serves to generate projects, initiate them and project them outwards. The need for a personal space for dance and music makes this initiative a centre for daily work, meeting and rehearsing with professionals.

The ground floor is entirely dedicated to art and we have designed the different areas there, both for work and for the residence of collaborating artists.

Located in the historic centre of the town of Utrera (Seville) and registered in 1869, it began its journey as a centre for artistic creation and residence under the guidance of Antonio Moreno and Leonor Leal, after more than a year of restoration work.

A house with history, where several generations have grown up and where many neighbours have anecdotes and childhood memories. It was the first post office in the village, housed a photography studio and often brought together young dreamers who made music and dreamed of dedicating themselves to it.

House 23, with its central courtyard and lemon tree in the background, attracts everyone like a small oasis in the summer heat.

The house is a dovecote
And the bed a jasmine bush.
The doors wide open
And in the background a whole world.
